What are veneers?
Cosmetic veneers are thin shells of porcelain that Dr. Habbel bonds to the front of the teeth that are visible when you smile. Their handcrafted design gives your smile the perfect shape and size, while also hiding aesthetic irregularities like:
• Gaps or crowding
• Chipped and uneven teeth
• Misshaped teeth
• Deep staining and discolorationveneers
Although veneers are made of the same durable porcelain as our crowns, a veneer is an aesthetic treatment, rather than a restorative one. The purpose is to improve your smile's appearance while minimizing any alterations to otherwise healthy tooth structure.
Part of your veneers treatment at our practice will involve a private consultation with our doctor. We'll discuss what you like about your teeth, what you wish you could change, and the types of characteristics that we can achieve by placing porcelain veneers. Most of our patients have about six veneers placed side-by-side; others may need 8-10, depending on how wide their smile is. Some individuals choose to put veneers on the lower teeth as well. Veneers can also be combined with other types of cosmetic treatments, like whitening, bonding, or crowns for a fully comprehensive approach to your smile makeover.
